Statement
of Faith
Cross Point Christian is a non-denominational, independent Christian Church. We are committed to the truth of God's Word as revealed in the Bible. The following statements reflect our core convictions about God, salvation, Scripture, and the life of the Church. We hold these truths in common with believers throughout history and across the universal Body of Christ.
1. We Believe in the Bible
The Bible — both Old and New Testaments — is the inspired Word of God, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is completely true, completely relevant, and the final authority for all matters of faith, truth, morality, and Christian living.

2. We Believe God is three in one
God exists eternally as one supreme being in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Though each person of the Trinity is distinct, they each possess equal power and authority, all working in complete unity for the salvation of all people.

3. We Believe in God the Father
There is one God, our Father, Creator and Lord of all things — who is all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, unchanging, just, holy, good, loving, compassionate, and completely faithful to His people and His promises. The only way to access the Father is through the Son.

4. We Believe in Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. Jesus lived a sinless life, voluntarily died on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for sin, and rose bodily from the dead on the third day. He ascended into heaven and will return in victory to rule forever.

5. We Believe in the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is fully God, existing eternally as the third person of the Trinity. He convicts the world of sin, indwells every believer from the moment of salvation, imparts spiritual gifts, and empowers Christians for holy living, life long service, and mission.

6. We Believe in the Nature of Humanity
All people are made in the image of God and are the supreme object of His creation. Through Adam's sin, all people are born with a sinful nature, are separated from God, and are unable to restore that relationship through their own efforts. Every person, from conception to natural death, possesses dignity and immeasurable worth and is deserving of love, respect and truth.

7. We Believe in Salvation
Salvation is a free gift of God's grace, received through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ — not earned by human effort or good works. Salvation occurs when a person recognizes their sin, repents, and places their trust in Jesus' death and resurrection as sufficient payment for sin. The Bible calls every believer to be baptized by immersion as a public declaration of their faith. Being a disciple is a life long journey of choosing to die to self and picking up your cross to follow Jesus.

8. We Believe in the Church
The Church is the Body of Christ — all communities of believers unified through faith in Jesus, committed to His teachings, and sent into the world to proclaim the Gospel. Every Christian is called to be an active member of a local church, using their God-given gifts to serve one another and fulfill the Great Commission. Jesus commissioned His church to make disciples—men and women who are unified to follow Jesus, are changed by Jesus, and are committed to the mission of Jesus. Jesus Christ is the one and only Head of the Church.

9. We Believe in Baptism and Communion
Baptism: Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new believer is called by Scripture to be baptized in water as a public declaration of faith and identification with the death and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus was baptized as an example for all believers to follow. We practice baptism by immersion.

Communion: The Lord's Supper is a sacred time of worship and reflection in which believers take the bread and cup in remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. The bread represents Jesus' body and the juice represents his blood. We celebrate communion regularly as a church family.

10. We Believe in Marriage, Gender, and the Sanctity of Life
God is the Creator of human life and the Designer of marriage. We believe God created humanity as male and female — two distinct and complementary genders — and that each person's biological sex is an intrinsic aspect of their God-given identity. We believe marriage is a sacred, lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. We believe that life is sacred from conception to natural death, and that Christians are called to defend and protect all human life.

11. We Believe in Eternal Life and the Return of Christ
All people are created to exist forever — either in eternal communion with God through faith in Jesus, or choose to be eternally separated from God because they refuse to put their faith in Jesus. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and the glorious, visible return of Jesus Christ to enter His Kingdom and create a new heaven and a new earth.
